PizZA

How can I possibly start this blog without mentioning anything about Pizza? As you already know and experienced, this food is perfect for all times of the day, it's comforting, dynamic, goes with anything for a topping(maybe not with bananas). I sincerely believe that pizza is one of the best things created by Food Gods who cared about their flock on earth. It's a masterpiece in the food world!

Pizza lovers such as myself, usually end up doing a little bit of research on the side to spice up our ever-loving-hunger for this wonderful piece of artwork. And the information I have found is amazing. I will not bore you with all the details. However, I can't go forward without telling you guys the shorter version of the story of Pizza that is thousands of years old.

Historians say that ancient cultures that run back to the Neolithic age, used flatbreads with different kinds of toppings. That means, various cultures in every continent had a hand in shaping the modern Pizza we know today (love to our ancestors, they really were wise!).

But the magic of pizza-making was actually introduced to the world by the good people of Naples (God bless them) in Italy. They started using Tomatoes to flavour their bread by the end of the 18th century, two centuries after Europe was introduced to this versatile fruit used as a vegetable called Tomato, by the Central Americans.

Margherita Pizza
The Margherita Pizza topped with a generous amount of Mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce and fresh basil was one of the first two pizzas the good people of Naples introduced and to this day, considered a classic, around the world.

The other one is the Marinara pizza with toppings of tomatoes, oregano, garlic and extra virgin olive oil. I personally haven't tried this one yet, but I will very soon, with the hope to tell you guys what I think about it.

Marinara Pizza

Pizza attracted thousands to Naples, and soon people took the recipe back to their home country. It then became a home favourite for many around the world.

By today, we have pizzas with different bases; thin and crispy, deep and cheesy, stuffed and delicious! It all depends on one's mood and preference. But no pizza ever go to the hands of a pizza lover without the ancient classics of tomatoes and cheese as main ingredients of the toppings

My personal favourites include any pizza with chicken, sea food, cheese and tomato sauce on it :)

Next time, I'll tell you about my worst and best experiences in eating Pizza. Till then, don't forget to eat what you love (But don't be too greedy to let it consume you)
